What happened: The Tunisian Football Federation has dismissed head coach Sabri Lamouchi following a crushing 5–1 loss to Sweden in their World Cup opener. Lamouchi becomes the first manager in tournament history to be fired after just a single game.

Why it matters: The federation moved swiftly after the lopsided result at Estadio BBVA exposed tactical flaws and reported dressing room instability. The decision aims to stabilize the squad for Tunisia before critical group stage matches against Japan and the Netherlands.

By the numbers: Group F: Sweden 5, Tunisia 1. Scorers: Isak, Ayari (2), Gyökeres, Svanberg (SWE); Rekik (TUN). Group F Standings: Sweden (3 pts, +4), Tunisia (0 pts, -4).

What to watch: Interim coach Mondher Kebaier will lead the team into their second group fixture against Japan on June 19.
