What happened: Speaking on behalf of his teammates, coaches, and the organization, Tyrese Haliburton told the arena crowd that the team loves their support prior to the opening tip. Wearing No. 0 in his seventh NBA season, he also signed custom shoes before taking the floor.

Why it matters: The pregame remarks follow a full offseason of Achilles rehabilitation for the guard who checked in for Media Day in late September. His clearance for full-court duty restores the starting point guard to the rotation at the start of the 2026-27 regular season.

By the numbers: Haliburton posted 23 points and 12 assists in Thursday's season opener, recording a double-double in his first competitive game after a 486-day layoff.

What to watch: Friday's game tips off at 7 p.m. ET on NBA League Pass, testing Haliburton's workload management on the second night of a back-to-back.
