"The Sixers are only going to go as far as Maxey takes them, he does not have to defer to anybody." Charles Barkley bel Via @ESPNNBA on X

What happened: Speaking on ESPN, Charles Barkley said the Philadelphia 76ers will go only as far as Tyrese Maxey takes them.

Why it matters: That framing places full offensive command on Maxey, who tracked back for a recovery block on tip-off night. Addressing season expectations for the Sixers, Maxey also pointed to a big gap in the roster's room to grow and get better.

What to watch: Philadelphia is scheduled for a 7:00 PM ET tipoff on Wednesday, Oct. 28.
