What happened: UC Capitals opened WNBL27 in Canberra with early focus on featuring Amy Atwell in the offense. Atwell earned Player of the Game honors in the Opening Week win over Bendigo.

Why it matters: Atwell's production carries implications beyond Canberra as Opals selection and overseas opportunity track WNBL27 form. A sustained scoring role would strengthen her case for a return to higher-level consideration.

What to watch: Canberra continues its home schedule in the coming week, offering a near-term measure of Atwell's consistency and role.
