"[LeBron] can buy me a new nose." 😭 VJ Edgecombe on Bron giving him a bloody nose against the Cavs 😅 https://t.co/Af9hl Via @ESPNNBA on X

What happened: Edgecombe absorbed contact to the face from James during the physical regular-season matchup with Cleveland. Edgecombe, who previously joked in September about adding James to a team group chat, laughed off the collision afterward.

Why it matters: The lighthearted postgame reaction capped a physical opening-week contest as the 2026-27 NBA regular season got underway.

By the numbers: Cleveland dropped to 0-1 on the season following the 114-106 road defeat on Oct. 22.

What to watch: The Cavaliers look to rebound from the opening loss as early-season Eastern Conference play continues.
