What happened: JJ Redick said Walker Kessler will play tonight against Golden State in the preseason. Kessler returned to live drills this week and went through Sunday shootaround in Las Vegas with his left pinky wrapped.

Why it matters: The outing provides first live reps for Kessler in the frontcourt rotation. His availability determines center minutes through the rest of the 2026-27 preseason slate.

What to watch: His first-half minutes and defensive assignments will indicate readiness for the opener. The next preseason rotation will clarify his role alongside the starters.
