What happened: The move takes Judge off the active roster and adds Schuemann as extra infield-outfield depth ahead of Saturday's scheduled game. New York opened the series with a 9-2 win Friday.

Why it matters: Judge's absence forces lineup and bench adjustments for a club that has won four of its last five games. It also extends a week of uncertainty around Judge after his earlier lower-leg issue.

What to watch: Watch New York's lineup card Saturday and how Schuemann is used after the recall. The next roster update on Judge will shape the Yankees' short-term depth plan.
