Per head coach Lindy Ruff, Olen Zellweger won't be available for tomorrow's game. He is not ruled out yet for Saturday Via @BuffaloSabres on X

What happened: Lindy Ruff set the timeline Thursday ahead of Friday's game. Saturday's home opener remains possible pending clearance.

Why it matters: The call shapes opening-weekend defensive plans entering the 2026-27 season. Availability for Saturday would settle the home-opening group.

What to watch: Watch Friday's lineup and Saturday skate for a clearance update. A final call comes closer to puck drop for the opener.
