What happened: San Francisco removed Kirk's questionable game status Saturday after activating the veteran wide receiver from injured reserve, where he was placed Oct. 15 with a calf issue, per ESPN's Adam Schefter and the team. Tight end George Kittle noted earlier this week that Kirk and fellow wideout Brandin Cooks looked fantastic in practice ahead of the roster move.

Why it matters: The activation gives the NFC's top-seeded 49ers immediate depth for Sunday's road matchup in Atlanta after the club ruled out wide receivers Mike Evans and Deebo Samuel along with defensive end Nick Bosa. With Cooks stepping in as the primary X receiver after Evans exited Monday's win over Washington with an Achilles injury, Kirk steps directly into an active rotation for an unbeaten offense.

By the numbers: San Francisco enters Sunday at 6-0 atop the NFC standings on a six-game winning streak following a 23-17 win over the Washington Commanders on Oct. 19. Selected 47th overall in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft, Kirk was placed on injured reserve Oct. 15 before being cleared for his first appearance of the 2026 campaign.

What to watch: Kirk carries no injury designation into Sunday's game against the Falcons as San Francisco looks to extend its unbeaten start to seven games.
