What happened: Tight end George Kittle highlighted the Thursday practice work of wide receivers Christian Kirk and Brandin Cooks during Week 7 preparations. Kirk took the practice field after the 49ers ruled him out on Oct. 19 following an Oct. 15 injured reserve designation.

Why it matters: San Francisco has steered clear of pursuing a major receiver trade after closing out a 23-17 Monday night victory in Week 6. Getting productive reps from two veteran wideouts addresses the team's perimeter depth in-house without surrendering draft capital ahead of the trade deadline.

What to watch: San Francisco's upcoming Week 7 injury and practice participation reports will determine Kirk's official game status and workload.
