What happened: Veteran quarterback Andy Dalton is a candidate to re-sign with the Philadelphia Eagles, per Mike Garafolo. Multiple teams have checked in on Dalton since Philadelphia released him on Oct. 9, though familiarity with the system gives him a clear role if he returns.

Why it matters: Starter Jalen Hurts is out for Sunday's game due to a superficial blood clot, leaving Tanner McKee atop the depth chart until Hurts' medical situation is resolved. Bringing back Dalton, who previously served as the team's backup in September, would immediately restore veteran depth behind McKee.

What to watch: McKee takes over starting duties moving forward while Dalton weighs a return to Philadelphia against interest from other clubs.
