What happened: Giannis Antetokounmpo praised Luka Doncic as one of the greatest scorers in basketball history following Doncic's latest 40-point performance. Antetokounmpo emphasized that Doncic's sustained scoring output warrants an elevated standard when evaluating his offensive place in the game.

Why it matters: Doncic has emerged as an early front-runner in MVP discussions while pacing an explosive start to the regular season. The praise follows a head-to-head clash on Nov. 2, as the Heat reshaped their rotation around Antetokounmpo during a 138-117 defeat.

What to watch: Both players continue their regular-season schedules as Doncic aims to preserve his league-leading scoring clip and Antetokounmpo manages a probable right wrist sprain.
