We have made the following roster moves. https://t.co/LcLBTzdElZ Via @Athletics on X

What happened: The Oakland Athletics activated third baseman Max Muncy from the 10-day injured list prior to their series against the Brewers. To make room on the active roster, the club optioned infielder Darell Hernaiz to Triple-A Las Vegas.

Why it matters: Muncy's return provides a significant veteran boost to an infield that has struggled with injuries. The move stabilizes the left side of the diamond as the Athletics look to improve upon their 31-34 start during their homestand in Las Vegas.

By the numbers: Muncy missed approximately six weeks with a fractured finger. Hernaiz was batting .237 with 1 HR and 7 RBIs in 47 games prior to his demotion. The Athletics currently hold a 31-34 record in the 2026 season.

What to watch: Watch for Muncy's immediate impact in the lineup tonight against Milwaukee. Shortstop Jacob Wilson is also expected to return from his rehab assignment later this week.
