What happened: The Colorado Avalanche reassigned Taylor Makar to the Colorado Eagles. The club announced the move Monday, ending a short NHL stint that followed an Oct. 23 recall from the Eagles.

Why it matters: The switch restores a depth option to the Eagles during the early 2026-27 regular season. It keeps Makar within the organization on the two-year deal signed in June for further call-up consideration.

What to watch: The Eagles next lineup will indicate where Makar slots back in. Colorado next NHL game will clarify whether the open roster spot stays vacant.
