What happened: Barcelona remain interested in teenage defender Jorge Salinas, but the club is not expected to overspend to secure him, according to the report. The pursuit follows prior reporting that the Catalan club has weighed a move around his release-clause situation.

Why it matters: The stance keeps Barcelona positioned for a youth-focused defensive addition without stretching its transfer budget. It also fits the club's recent focus on lower-cost prospects, including its reported interest in Salinas tied to an €8m clause.

What to watch: Watch whether Barcelona move before the clause picture changes. The next signal is whether talks shift from interest to a formal offer.
