What happened: Brett Baty hit a fly ball to left center field for a home run, his second of the season, with MJ Melendez scoring ahead of him. The call on the field was reviewed by the umpires and upheld as a home run. The blast tied the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Why it matters: Baty's power stroke continues to factor into late-inning leverage, with the two-run shot erasing a deficit and resetting the game's complexion. Tie games in the middle innings shift in-play win probabilities and live, and a confirmed review removes any lingering ambiguity around the call. Melendez crossing the plate adds another run-scored to his ledger in a contest where every base runner now matters.

What to watch: Watch how the pitching matchup adjusts after the tie, particularly whether either bullpen begins to stir in the middle innings. Baty's next plate appearance and any lineup shuffling against the opposing starter will shape the back half of the game.
