What happened: Arsenal defender Ben White will miss the Champions League final and the rest of the season with a knee injury, per Fabrizio Romano. Further tests will determine whether White can be included in England's World Cup squad. The injury was sustained in Arsenal's recent fixture against West Ham.

Why it matters: White's absence is a major blow for Mikel Arteta's unbeaten Champions League run, removing a first-choice defender from the biggest match of Arsenal's season. The Gunners are heavy favorites to lift silverware, with to win a trophy this season. Losing White narrows Arteta's back-line options just as the final approaches.

What to watch: Watch for official Arsenal confirmation of the injury severity and an updated timeline. England's World Cup squad selection will hinge on the results of follow-up tests.
