Cardinals optimistic Jeremiyah Love will face Chargers in Week 1

What happened: Mike LaFleur said Monday that Love was progressing and moved around during a walkthrough. The first-round running back had been held out with the ankle injury since his Aug. 13 preseason debut.

Why it matters: Arizona used the No. 3 overall pick on Love, making his availability central to its opening-week backfield planning. Missing the rest of the preseason left him with one game of live work before the regular season.

By the numbers: Love recorded 11 carries for 58 yards and three catches for 14 yards in his only preseason appearance.
