What happened: Los Angeles has turned away inquiries about Herbert ahead of the Nov. 10 trade deadline. Former NFL executive Joe Banner put the chance of a deal at "zero," even for a hypothetical return of three first-round picks.

Why it matters: The Chargers have opened 0-6 for the first time since 2000. Keeping Herbert leaves the team to address its offensive struggles around its established quarterback.

By the numbers: Herbert threw 26 touchdowns and 13 interceptions in 16 games in 2025. Through six games in 2026, he has five touchdown passes and eight interceptions.

What to watch: The Chargers visit the Rams on Sunday in their first game after the bye.
