What happened: CBS analyst Cowher said of Shedeur Sanders, "He's been waiting for this, and it's a great opportunity for him." Sanders takes over under center for Cleveland with Deshaun Watson inactive despite clearing protocol.

Why it matters: Sanders was a fifth-round pick, 144th overall, out of Colorado in the 2025 NFL Draft. Cleveland does not view the start as an audition, and Gabriel is the backup behind him.

What to watch: Watson is expected to return next week. The trade window closes Tuesday, Nov. 10.
