What happened: The Cleveland Browns signed defensive tackle Sam Kamara to the active roster ahead of Sunday's game. The team also signed rookie tight end Carsen Ryan to the practice squad and elevated him to the active roster for Week 9. Deshaun Watson cleared concussion protocol, leaving his availability subject to pregame evaluation.

Why it matters: Shedeur Sanders will start at quarterback against New Orleans even with Watson medically cleared to dress. Cleveland enters the matchup at 5-3, holding the AFC's No. 8 seed after falling 27-6 to Pittsburgh. Kamara's promotion secures interior defensive line depth following multiple standard practice squad elevations.

What to watch: The Browns face the Saints on Sunday, when inactives will determine whether Watson dresses as the backup quarterback.
