What happened: Former NFL offensive tackle Terron Armstead, who backed Brock Purdy earlier this season, said on CBS Sports that the San Francisco 49ers could add another piece in the running back room or at wide receiver. His projection comes as the franchise weighs additional roster moves ahead of the Nov. 10 NFL trade deadline.

Why it matters: San Francisco enters the deadline window coming off its first defeat of the campaign, a 29-20 road loss to the Atlanta Falcons on Oct. 25. Competition atop the NFC West has tightened after the 4-3 Seattle Seahawks sent third- and fifth-round draft picks to the Indianapolis Colts for guard Quenton Nelson.

By the numbers: The 49ers sit at 6-1 on a one-game losing streak while ranking 24th in the NFL in defensive pressure rate.

What to watch: NFL clubs have until Nov. 10 to complete in-season trades.
