What happened: Pavel Dorofeyev scored in overtime to lift the Vegas Golden Knights to a Game 5 win and a 3-2 series lead. Vegas now sits one victory away from advancing to the Western Conference Final. The decisive goal came after a tightly contested regulation period.

Why it matters: An OT winner in a 2-2 series swings home-ice math and series win probability dramatically toward Vegas. With elimination now on the table for their opponent, the Golden Knights control pace, matchups, and rest entering Game 6. A trip to the WCF would mark another deep playoff run for a franchise that has built its identity around postseason resilience.

What to watch: Watch Game 6 on the road, where Vegas can close out the series and book a Western Conference Final berth. Key variables: Dorofeyev's usage, goaltending matchup, and special-teams swing.
