Charlotte is also on a back-to-back after a 95-79 loss in D.C.

What happened: Joel Embiid and LeBron James are ruled out for the Sixers' Halloween game in Charlotte. Embiid is listed with plantar fasciitis management and James with lower back/sciatica management. Jaylen Brown, Jabari Walker and Tacko Fall are questionable. Brown missed Friday's game against the Knicks with left knee patellar tendinopathy.

Why it matters: Without Embiid, James and possibly Brown, Philadelphia would lean on Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Dean Wade and Anfernee Simons. Center depth is thin, with Walker (patellar tendinopathy) and Fall (left quadriceps strain) both questionable and Dominick Barlow out.

By the numbers: Sixers: 5-1. Hornets: 3-3, after a 95-79 loss at Washington on Friday. Charlotte is without Kon Knueppel (left hamstring) and Grant Williams (right hamstring), both listed out.

What to watch: Brown, Walker and Fall are the status calls to watch before tip-off, since they decide who plays center for Philadelphia.
