What happened: The 20-year-old's power breakout came 15 days after his Major League debut. Three days earlier, Salas recorded his first Major League hit, a triple in his 16th career at-bat.

Why it matters: Salas debuted at 20 years, 93 days old as the youngest MLB catcher in 35 years, so each early milestone carries unusual weight. A jump from debut to triple to a two-homer night in two weeks only intensifies the focus on how quickly his bat is translating in the majors.

What to watch: Watch how often San Diego keeps Salas in the lineup over the next few days. His September sample now includes a triple and two homers, giving the club a fresh read on how quickly the 20-year-old can stick.
