What happened: Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich said Thursday that Kendal Daniels takes pride in getting the entire unit on the same page as the defense's on-field play-caller. The vote of confidence comes days after Daniels returned to practice following a Sunday head and neck injury that brought out the medical cart.

Why it matters: The green-dot helmet designates the lone defender permitted to receive live radio play-calls from the coaching staff before the snap. Trusting a rookie with pre-snap checks gives Atlanta an immediate relay option while fellow linebacker Divine Deablo works to get on the field.

What to watch: Atlanta's final week-end injury designations will determine Divine Deablo's availability and whether Daniels takes over primary signal-calling duties on Sunday.
