What happened: The meeting took place Monday, two days before Jacksonville's first public training-camp practice. Jones spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons with the club.

Why it matters: Jones' familiarity with Jacksonville could reduce his adjustment time if the sides reach a deal. A contract would add another veteran option before camp evaluations begin.

By the numbers: Jones caught 12 passes for 183 yards in eight games in 2025. During his previous Jacksonville stint, he totaled 116 receptions, 1,144 yards and seven touchdowns in 25 games.

What to watch: Watch for a contract decision as Jacksonville moves into training camp Wednesday.
