What happened: J.T. Ginn delivered a dominant performance on Monday, pitching 6.0 innings and allowing just one unearned run in a win over the Pittsburgh Pirates. Ginn surrendered six hits and two walks while striking out three batters to earn his fifth win of the 2026 season.

Why it matters: The victory moves the Athletics to 35-36, placing them just one game behind the Seattle Mariners for the lead in a crowded AL West. Ginn has been a stabilizing force in the rotation during June, posting a 2.91 ERA across 77.1 innings this season as the club continues its residency at Sutter Health Park.

What to watch: The Athletics look to carry this momentum through the home stand as they push for the top spot in the division standings.
