What happened: The Vegas Golden Knights recalled defenseman Viliam Kmec from the Henderson Silver Knights on Sunday. In a corresponding transaction, defenseman Ville Heinola was assigned to Henderson.

Why it matters: The roster move reshuffles blue-line depth between Vegas and its AHL affiliate during the regular season. Heinola was previously assigned to Henderson on Oct. 14 before returning to the NHL roster. Kmec moves up to provide immediate defensive reinforcement.

What to watch: Vegas will set its defensive pairings in upcoming team sessions ahead of the next game.
