What happened: The Pro Football Hall of Fame announced five contributor nominees for the Class of 2027: Canton Bulldogs owner Ralph Hay, Patriots owner Robert Kraft, Bears owner Virginia McCaskey, Washington QB and executive Doug Williams, and former Browns offensive lineman and NFL executive John Wooten.

Why it matters: The Contributor Subcommittee narrowed the field to these five. Williams is the only former quarterback in the group, and he now serves as an advisor to the general manager in Washington.

What to watch: The nominees move on to the Hall's selection process for the Class of 2027.
