What happened: Melifonwu spent 2025 with Miami on a one-year, $4 million contract. The 27-year-old entered the NFL in 2021.

Why it matters: The addition gives Tampa Bay another veteran option in the secondary during training camp. The one-year structure preserves flexibility beyond the 2026 season.

By the numbers: In 16 games for Miami in 2025, Melifonwu totaled 51 tackles, one sack and one interception.

What to watch: Melifonwu's first training-camp practice and role in the safety rotation are the next checkpoints.
