What happened: New York Jets selected DE David Bailey second overall in the 2026 NFL Draft. They added TE Kenyon Sadiq at No. 16 and WR Omar Cooper Jr. at No. 30. The team will have three first-round picks again in 2027.

Why it matters: The high picks signal a continued rebuild after a dismal 2025 season, infusing talent at premium positions like edge rusher and receiver. Extra future picks suggest ongoing struggles, impacting long-term betting futures. Jets' Super Bowl lengthen amid youth movement.

By the numbers: Draft picks: No. 2 DE David Bailey (projected 12 sacks rookie yr); No. 16 TE Kenyon Sadiq; No. 30 WR Omar Cooper Jr. Jets 2025 record: 3-14 (2nd draft slot). shift: Jets win total .5 (down from 6.5 pre-draft).

What to watch: Watch Jets rookie minicamp and OTAs for early integration of Bailey into pass rush.
