What happened: Forward Justin Brazeau has been activated from injured reserve and assigned to AHL WBS on a conditioning loan, while forward Elmer Soderblom moves to injured reserve. Forward Avery Hayes and defenseman Chase Pietila were also reassigned to WBS in the four-player roster shuffle.

Why it matters: Conditioning loans allow a player returning from injured reserve to log AHL game reps before rejoining the NHL lineup. Sending Pietila and Hayes back to the minors reshapes the active roster after the club recalled Chase Pietila on Oct. 22 and called up Hayes on Oct. 24.

What to watch: Brazeau will log conditioning game action with WBS before returning to the NHL lineup, while the forward rotation adjusts during Soderblom's stint on injured reserve.
