What happened: Wide receiver Rashee Rice (hamstring/knee) and defensive tackle Omarr Norman-Lott (knee) participated on a limited basis in Kansas City's Wednesday practice, while cornerback L'Jarius Sneed did not practice. Head coach Andy Reid expected Rice to work Wednesday after the wideout was ruled out against the Seahawks along with Jaylon Moore and Brashard Smith last week. Norman-Lott returned to practice after being placed on the reserve/PUP list.

Why it matters: Rice has been sidelined since his Oct. 4 injury against the Raiders, leaving Xavier Worthy to take on a larger role and prompting Kansas City to sign wide receiver Andrew Armstrong to the active roster. The passing attack stalled without Rice on Sunday in Seattle, failing to reach the red zone in a 20-3 defeat. Getting Rice and Norman-Lott back into drills gives the AFC's top seed potential reinforcements on both sides of the ball while Sneed misses the opening session of the week.

By the numbers: Kansas City stands at 5-1 and holds the No. 1 seed despite Sunday's 20-3 loss at Seattle. Patrick Mahomes went 19 of 33 for 165 yards and an interception in that game as the Chiefs were held to a single field goal.

What to watch: Thursday and Friday practice participation will determine whether Rice can clear his questionable designation for the upcoming game against Denver and whether Sneed returns to the field before week's end.
