What happened: NHL analyst Kevin Weekes praised Edmonton Oilers center Connor McDavid during an appearance on The Pat McAfee Show, describing the forward's pace as supersonic. Weekes noted he had never seen skating and processing speed match McDavid's current form.

Why it matters: The praise follows Connor McDavid's fast start to the 2026 regular season, which included a five-point outing in a 6-2 victory on Oct. 18. Edmonton relies heavily on McDavid's transition play to drive offense while navigating early-season lineup adjustments.

What to watch: Edmonton continues its regular-season schedule as McDavid aims to sustain his offensive production.
