What happened: ESPN analysts Jeremy Fowler and Matt Bowen paired the Detroit Lions with Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Woolen, Los Angeles Chargers cornerback Jackson, Cincinnati Bengals defensive lineman Stewart, and New Orleans Saints right guard Ruiz as trade fits. Woolen and Jackson offer perimeter and zone coverage options on prorated $6 million base salaries as Detroit rotates its cornerbacks. At interior offensive line, Detroit already starts 2025 second-round pick Tate Ratledge at right guard and 2024 sixth-round pick Christian Mahogany at left guard, with 2023 second-round selection Juice Scruggs in reserve.

Why it matters: Philadelphia sits at 2-5 and lost quarterback Jalen Hurts for the remainder of the 2026 season after weekend imaging revealed blood clots in his lungs, positioning the Eagles as deadline sellers with Woolen given a 35% trade probability. The winless Chargers face upcoming games against the Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens, New England Patriots, San Francisco 49ers, Kansas City Chiefs, and Denver Broncos, while the 2-5 Saints also project as sellers. Conversely, the 4-2 Bengals hold the No. 7 seed in the AFC on a two-game winning streak after beating the 4-3 Ravens 35-13 on Oct. 25, making a deal for 2025 No. 17 overall pick Stewart unlikely despite his 17 snaps following a training camp leg injury.

By the numbers: Woolen, a 6-foot-4 cornerback formerly with the Seattle Seahawks, has allowed 20 completions on 36 targets for 282 yards and four touchdowns in 2026 while recording six passes defended and one forced fumble. Jackson has started 109 games across nine NFL seasons with 23 interceptions and 68 passes defended, including tenure as a team captain with the Carolina Panthers. Detroit's interior line features Tate Ratledge (No. 57 overall in 2025), Juice Scruggs (No. 62 overall in 2023), and Christian Mahogany (No. 210 overall in 2024), while sidelined Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts (No. 53 overall in 2020) completed 294 of 454 passes for 3,224 yards, 25 touchdowns, and six interceptions over 16 games in 2025.

What to watch: NFL front offices have until the Tuesday, Nov. 10 trade deadline to finalize midseason roster moves.
