What happened: Following Indianapolis' Tuesday trades sending guard Quenton Nelson to Seattle for third- and fifth-round picks and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner to the 49ers for a fourth-rounder, Yahoo analyst Scott Pianowski evaluated how Colts starting running back Jonathan Taylor would fit with Minnesota, Seattle, and Denver ahead of the Nov. 10 deadline. Unbeaten Minnesota pairs the NFL's No. 2 defense by DVOA with a 30th-ranked offense under quarterback Kyler Murray, rotating 31-year-old Aaron Jones Sr. — who is day-to-day with a left knee injury from Sunday's 16-10 win over Indianapolis — and Jordan Mason. Seattle just added Nelson to block for quarterback Sam Darnold's offense while relying on Emanuel Wilson as Zach Charbonnet and rookie Jadarian Price work back from injuries.

Why it matters: Adding a three-down back would give Minnesota or Seattle offensive balance in an open NFC where the 3-4 Rams have struggled early and the 49ers face cluster injuries. Denver (5-2, No. 5 AFC seed) has less urgency to pursue a deal proactively despite ranking 30th in yards per game, as fourth-round rookie Jonah Coleman returned in Week 7 to join veteran J.K. Dobbins and second-year back RJ Harvey. Dealing Taylor as part of a deeper sell-off by the 12th-seeded Colts would elevate backup Seth McGowan atop Indianapolis' depth chart.

By the numbers: Indianapolis (2-5, three-game losing streak) holds a 7% playoff projection per DVOA after falling 16-10 at Minnesota on Oct. 25. Through six games, the Vikings rank second in defensive DVOA and 30th on offense, with Mason recording zero receptions this season and 28 in his career. Seattle's Wilson is averaging 3.6 yards per carry in 2026. Denver (5-2, three-game winning streak after a 30-16 victory at Arizona on Oct. 25) ranks fifth in defensive DVOA and 16th in offensive DVOA while averaging 3.8 yards per carry; Coleman logged 11 touches for 69 yards in Week 7.

What to watch: NFL clubs have until the Nov. 10 trade deadline to complete deals, while Seattle plans to designate Price (chest) for return from injured reserve in Week 8 and monitors questionable tags alongside Charbonnet, Minnesota's Jones, and Denver's Coleman.
