What happened: Nashville traded Luke Evangelista to New Jersey for a conditional Colorado 2028 first-round pick and New Jersey's 2028 second-round pick. Chris MacFarland said the return gives the club assets it can use in future moves.

Why it matters: The deal opens a roster opportunity for younger forwards entering camp. It also adds high draft capital as Nashville continues to reshape its roster for sustained success.

What to watch: MacFarland will evaluate competition for the open forward spot when camp begins. Nashville can also use its added picks in a future transaction.
