What happened: Washington will open Sunday against Indianapolis in London with Marcus Mariota at quarterback. Jayden Daniels entered the week as questionable before being ruled out for the game.

Why it matters: The switch puts Washington's offense in the hands of a veteran quarterback for its London matchup with the Colts. It also closes the door on Daniels returning this week after he practiced in London.

What to watch: Washington's next update on Daniels will decide whether Mariota gets only this start or a longer run. Sunday's game will offer the clearest read yet on how the Commanders handle the spot while Daniels is unavailable.
