The NL All-Star reserves: Catchers: William Contreras and Hunter Goodman Infielders: Luis Arraez, Bryce Harper, Otto Lop

What happened: William Contreras and Hunter Goodman lead the National League reserve group at catcher. Luis Arraez, Bryce Harper, Otto Lopez, Matt Olson and Sal Stewart fill the infield, with Corbin Carroll, Pete Crow-Armstrong, Jordan Walker and James Wood in the outfield and Kyle Schwarber at designated hitter.

Why it matters: The selections complete the National League's position-player depth for the 2026 All-Star Game. The group balances established stars with first-time selections, including Lopez.

By the numbers: The reserve group includes 13 position players: two catchers, five infielders, four outfielders, one designated hitter and Arraez as an additional reserve. Lopez earned his first All-Star selection while leading MLB with a .337 average, 117 hits, 23 doubles and 37 multihit games.

What to watch: Pitching assignments, injury replacements and final role decisions will shape the National League roster before the July 14 game.
