What happened: Breanna Stewart moved into ninth on the WNBA's all-time scoring list on Sept. 18. The NBA followed with a congratulatory message as the milestone drew notice beyond the league.

Why it matters: The climb adds another benchmark to a September stretch that already included World Cup MVP honors for Stewart. It also puts extra weight on every remaining postseason game as she keeps adding to a resume that is still moving up historic lists.

What to watch: The next watch is whether Stewart climbs again before this postseason ends. Any further move up the all-time list would add another milestone to the same run.
