What happened: Nico Paz has officially communicated to Real Madrid his desire to remain at Como for the 2026-27 season. While a verbal agreement exists on the player's side, negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing to finalize the deal structure.

Why it matters: The decision follows the signing of Bernardo Silva, which complicates Paz's path to regular minutes in the Madrid midfield. After helping Como secure a historic fourth-place finish and Champions League qualification, the young playmaker prioritizes continued development under manager Cesc Fabregas.

What to watch: Final discussions between the clubs will determine if the arrangement is a loan extension or a permanent transfer with a buy-back clause.
