What happened: LN4 Fusion applied for a Formula 2 entry for the 2027-2029 cycle after taking over AIX Racing assets. FIA Formula 2 chief Bruno Michel said the selection list will arrive within one to one-and-a-half months, with team numbers held steady.

Why it matters: A slot would give Norris a development ladder tied to his own operation, which already holds a Formula 3 entry through 2027. A capped grid protects existing teams financially but leaves several applicants facing rejection.

By the numbers: Selection 5 months. LN4 Fusion launched in early September; its F3 arm lists Gabriel Gomez and James Egozi through 2027. Norris sits sixth on 201 points ahead of the Oct. 23-25 Austin weekend.

What to watch: Watch for the F2 selection list and whether LN4 Fusion makes the cut.
