What happened: The 31-year-old center back is poised to join New York City FC as a late-season defensive addition. Miazga is a former MLS Defender of the Year and would bolster NYCFC's back line down the stretch.

Why it matters: New York City FC is adding experience at a position that can swing playoff races with one injury or suspension. For FC Cincinnati, it would mark a swift turn from waiving Matt Miazga to seeing him stay in MLS.

What to watch: Official confirmation is next. His availability will come into focus once the move is finalized and registered.
