What happened: Baltimore urged fans to back Pete Alonso in the Roberto Clemente Award vote, extending the club's campaign around the honor. The push came after Alonso was recognized at The Yard as the Orioles' nominee.

Why it matters: The vote keeps Baltimore attached to one of MLB's marquee off-field honors during the regular season's closing stretch. It also adds another note to a strong week for Alonso, who reached 300 career home runs on Sept. 17.

What to watch: Voting is the immediate follow-through after Baltimore's push. The Orioles host Milwaukee on Saturday at 4:05 p.m. ET at Camden Yards.
