What happened: PuckPedia’s PuckGM users offered contract concepts for Quinn Hughes if he extends in Minnesota. Hughes has said he is in no rush to complete a new deal before training camp.

Why it matters: The extension remains hypothetical, but the timing matters because Hughes is entering the final season of his current contract. Minnesota’s roster planning will hinge on whether it secures him long term or carries uncertainty into the season.

By the numbers: Hughes’ current contract carries a $7.85 million average annual value and expires after the 2026-27 season.

What to watch: Watch for movement as Minnesota’s training camp opens and Hughes’ negotiations continue.
