What happened: Quenton Nelson, whom the Colts agreed to trade to the Seahawks on Tuesday, has surrendered a 2.2% pressure rate across his 2026 pass-protection workload, per PFF. The six-time All-Pro guard carries an 81.9 PFF pass-blocking grade this season, trailing only Christian Mahogany (83.8) and Dominick Puni (82.6) at the position.

Why it matters: Seattle acquired the eight-time Pro Bowler on an expiring contract for a 2027 third-round pick and a 2028 fifth-round pick as 2-5 Indianapolis shifts into sell mode. Drafted sixth overall out of Notre Dame in 2018, Nelson also grades out 12th among NFL guards in run blocking while anchoring interior pass protection.

By the numbers: 2026 PFF pass-blocking profile: 275 pass-block snaps, 0 sacks allowed, 2.2% pressure rate, 94.4% pass-block win rate, and an 81.9 pass-blocking grade (3rd among guards behind Christian Mahogany at 83.8 and Dominick Puni at 82.6). Career accolades since 2018: 8 Pro Bowls, 6 All-Pro selections.

What to watch: Nelson joins Seattle's offensive line ahead of Week 8, while Indianapolis prepares for a Week 9 matchup against the Cowboys after firing GM Chris Ballard. The Colts are also actively shopping defensive tackle DeForest Buckner, per Jordan Schultz.
