What happened: Real Madrid has finalized its depth chart at left back, designating recently acquired Marc Cucurella as the starter. Álvaro Carreras will operate as the primary backup, facilitating the permanent departure of Fran García.

Why it matters: The established rotation clarifies José Mourinho's defensive structure heading into the new season. Moving García clears a roster spot while yielding a financial return on a player falling outside the immediate tactical plans.

What to watch: The club will oversee Mendy's rehabilitation process as he recovers from injury.
