What happened: Former Baylor quarterback Robert Griffin III said he is interested in becoming the Bears' next head football coach, per ESPN. The 36-year-old currently works as a college football television analyst.

Why it matters: Griffin remains the only Heisman Trophy winner in Baylor history and went second overall in the 2012 NFL Draft. Moving directly from the broadcast booth to a college head coaching post without prior staff experience would be a rare step at the FBS level.

What to watch: Baylor continues its 2026 regular-season slate as the program weighs its future leadership.
