What happened: The Philadelphia Phillies announced that Cristopher Sanchez now holds one of the top five longest consecutive scoreless innings streaks in MLB history. The milestone caps a dominant run that has drawn national attention to the left-hander.

Why it matters: The streak vaults Sanchez into rare historical company and cements him as the anchor of the Phillies' rotation. Placing among the all-time leaders in any pitching category is a franchise-defining accomplishment and reshapes how Philadelphia projects its postseason ceiling.

What to watch: Watch whether Sanchez can extend the streak in his next start and climb further up the all-time list. Each scoreless inning now carries added historical weight.
